'' The Executive MBA is studied over 24 months, commencing in September with an induction weekend, followed by 12 weekend schools per annum over two years.

We appreciate that it is not possible for everyone who would like to study for the Oxford Brookes MBA to do so on a full-time basis. The big advantage of the Executive MBA is that you can continue in your existing employment whilst studying for a qualification through attendance at Saturday/Sunday workshops, conveniently delivered at the Wheatley Campus. This gives the additional benefit of being able to continuously put theory into practice. The intensive study blocks also give some of the benefits of full-time study in terms of discussing issues with fellow students.

We will involve you in a dynamic management development programme, which will address your current and future management needs. We aim to recruit a diverse cohort of students with professional or managerial backgrounds within the public or private sector. The MBA is designed to equip you to carry out hard analysis and evaluation of a range of business and management situations. In addition, the course prepares you for some of the softer implementation issues, such as leadership and the skill of influencing others, which can make the difference between success and failure.

The initial area of study has an operational emphasis, which prepares you to observe the world of business and management through the functional perspective of senior management. The second area emphasises the strategic and integrative nature of business and management and prepares you to take a holistic view of the organisation and its environment through the eyes of a typical chief executive. The final part of your MBA allows you to either broaden your knowledge or to specialise in an area of your choice through a combination of electives and your dissertation topic. You may decide to focus on a particular organisation, sector, or business and management topic or theme. Throughout the programme you are encouraged to consider ethical issues facing senior managers.

A second class UK honours degree or equivalent overseas degree from a recognised institution or equivalent professional qualification or other qualification and three years’ minimum managerial/professional work experience: or
