Training Course:Diploma in Human Resource ManagementSchool/Trainer:Oxford Brookes University Business School Oxford, United Kingdom
Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' Some students joining the three-year Professional Development Programme plan to exit after the second year with this fully recognised diploma. Before making a final decision, programme members are counselled by an experienced tutor who is able to assess the students motivation, current performance and future potential to succeed in completing the masters level third year.
The first year of the DHRM programme consists of the Certificate in Management (CM) programme. Diploma level is a pivotal stage in your development. Experience has shown that some individuals, when setting out on the certificate and diploma programmes, significantly underestimate both their ability and their development potential.
Students study six modules over two semesters:
People Management and Development Provides the foundations on which the four generalist modules are built. This is a spine designed to integrate the four generalist modules and results in a strong strategic focus.
Generalist learning and development Develops people through the integration of approaches to learning and development.
Generalist Employee Relations The module examines how employee commitment can be secured and aligned to organisational goals and objectives.
Generalist People Resourcing Explores the generic competences required of the HR professional charged with ensuring the effective resourcing and deployment of people.
Generalist Employee Reward Evaluates the strategies, policies, structures and processes used to develop and maintain reward systems.
Applied Research in Organisation Contexts Introduces you to the principles of good research methods. These include skills in sourcing information and in data collection and analysis. The module is designed to enable you to undertake a major assignment that will normally be work-based, which will form the basis for the management report that will result in the award of the Diploma in Human Resource Management. Alternatively, it provides a foundation for a detailed dissertation proposal and the initiation of a critical literature review that will form the basis of your MA research programme.
