'' Facilities Management is an evolving discipline with a short history in the UK. The course rationale addresses the strategic value of Facilities Management to companies and organisations attempting financial economies within evolving, competitive global markets. It emphasises assets and services within the context of the organisational and business strategy of the users, and their own general and specific requirements. Specifically, the strategic value of the built estate will be highlighted as well as the links between organisational change and Facilities Management techniques. A coherent thread of corporate management secures the context for all studies.

Option modules: The option modules allow the pursuit of wider interests and defined long-term outcomes appropriate to your working environment. In particular, the extended research undertaken within the dissertation will complement the interests and working experiences of individuals.

Entry Requirements
The course is intended principally to provide mid-career development for those in relevant employment. Students will normally be admitted holding a degree, or those having membership of a recognised professional body, and have completed two years of relevant practical experience.

Alternatively, applicants may be accepted who can demonstrate work experience and responsibility at a level at least equal to a graduate two years after graduation. An applicant on this ground would normally have at least eight years relevant work experience in a management of facilities role and have some responsibility, preferably including budgetary responsibility, within their current job specification.
