Course Description:
'' This course is designed to provide you with expertise in international finance and enable you to pursue a career within finance. Whilst having a strong disciplinary base in international finance, students will draw on other cognate disciplines including accounting and economics, and so be able to work with specialists in other areas and to present findings and analysis to non-specialists. The degree is open to individuals with no detailed prior knowledge of international finance. To that extent the programme can provide you with a career change vehicle if you are currently engaged in work or study outside international finance. Students can study for one semester at CERAM in the science and technology business park at Sophia Antipolis, Nice, France.
Course Content The course consists of eight modules studied over two semesters.

Options
Two from: International Financial Services Modern Portfolio Management Forecasting Financial Markets Managerial Accounting or a module from any other appropriate programme in the Westminster Business School or elsewhere in the University, subject to the approval of the course leader.
Teaching and Assessment The programme uses a variety of teaching methods including lectures, seminars and workshops. You will use appropriate computer software and are expected to develop a high degree of competence in data handling and analysis. The use of practical examples and student experience are emphasised. You are also encouraged to develop presentation skills and the ability to work in teams.
Student performance is assessed in each of the course modules, mostly through assignments with examinations. The assessments are the basis for the MSc award but are also designed to be part of the learning process.
Entry Requirements You will need:
i) a UK Honours degree (minimum Second Class) or overseas equivalent in accounting, economics or business studies; or ii) a UK Honours degree (or overseas equivalent) in another area plus evidence of quantitative skills and computer literacy, with some familiarity with business subjects gained through work experience; iii) to have attained an IELTS average score of 6.5 or the equivalent (for candidates whose previous education has not been in English).
