'' PHC courses are primarily directed toward individuals in public health practice who are currently in the workforce as well as to individuals not presently working in the health care system but who are considering a career in the field of public health. Courses necessary for completing the PHC are offered via the Internet in addition to courses already offered on the UI campus and as part of the Summer Institute. Nine of the 12 hours of certificate course work can be applied toward the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree if the student has an undergraduate degree, is enrolled in graduate credit for all of the certificate course work, and is admitted to the MPH program.
