'' The Building and Industrial Technology Program includes two areas of training -- Building Technology or Industrial Technology.
The Building Technology area includes instruction in Electrical Theory, Basic Wiring, Introduction to Programmable Logic Controls, Introduction to Heating and Air-Conditioning, Basic Electrical applications, Plumbing, and Carpentry. Graduates in this area are qualified for employment in the construction and maintenance of hospitals, motels, apartment complexes, schools, and other businesses.
The Industrial Technology area includes instruction in Electrical Theory, Basic Wiring, Electrical Safety, Lockout/Tagout, Motor Controls, 3-Phase/Single Phase/DC Motors, Blueprint Reading, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Hydraulics and Pneumatics, and Mechanical Systems. Careers in this area include Maintenance Mechanic, PLC Technician/Mechanic, Conveyor Maintenance and Machine Repair Maintenance Mechanic.
