'' Prepare for expanding opportunities in community-based human services with a Bachelor of Science in Mental Health and Human Services. Immerse yourself in a carefully structured course of study focused on community support, client assessment, case management, crisis intervention, symptom control education, clients�rights, and psychosocial rehabilitation. A culminating internship gives you a chance to put your skills and knowledge to work in the context of a human service, mental health, or substance abuse rehabilitation agency. The program fulfills the state requirement for the Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician/Community Certification.
UMA’s Associate of Arts in Social Services equips you to play a key role in helping people to improve their lives. As a graduate, you could find rewarding employment in a convalescent, geriatric, rehabilitation, substance abuse treatment, developmental disabilities, or mental health facility.
The Associate of Science in Human Services allows you to specialize in any of several vitally important areas: substance abuse, mental health, developmental disabilities, early childhood services, child and adolescent services, or gerontology. Coursework reflects a stimulating blend of human services and liberal arts, while supervised field placements afford opportunities to develop and apply skills critical to success.
