'' The Management Information Systems (MIS) program at the University of Southern Mississippi trains students for some of the fastest growing careers in the country. Within the state of Mississippi alone jobs like network systems analysts are growing by as much as 72 percent. Considering that an MIS degree prepares an applicant for positions such as these, it is no wonder that students choose the MIS major—and Southern Miss is the perfect place to train them.

Class sizes are small, allowing students lots of contact with professors. One MIS student says “the faculty does a good job of keeping us up to date with what’s happening in the real world,�along with “telling you what to expect when you start a job.�She warns, though, “Be prepared to work hard. The faculty treats you as a professional, because when you enter the real world, you’re going to have to perform. They expect you to perform.�
