'' This course is designed to give students an introduction to Attic (Classical) Koine (Biblical) Greek, and experience translating classic and scriptural authors. Class material reflects Greek history, mythology, religion, philosophy, literature, and art, and includes quotations and excerpts of the best Greek writers and thinkers including Homer, Herodotus, and Thucydides. Scriptural reading are from the Gospels of Luke and John. Greek grammer is presented in a way that is understandable to students and at the same time preserves what is best in the long tradition of classical scholarship. ...''
