'' Drafters are skilled workers who translate ideas and concepts into precise plans. Drafters may specialize in architectural, engineering, or mechanical drafting.



Employers prefer hire people with college-level education in drafting, according to the U.S. Labor Department.



Graduates of an associate of applied science degree program in drafting will find jobs most easily. Shorter diploma and certificate programs provide the skills needed for specific entry-level jobs.



Central Community College offers a drafting program at its Columbus, Grand Island and Hastings campuses.



Two-year associate of applied science degrees and one-year diplomas are offered in:

Architectural Drafting
Engineering Drafting
Civil Engineering Drafting
Construction Management Transfer Program - Students who want to complete a bachelor’s degree in construction management can transfer 60-61 credits from Central Community College to the University of Nebraska-Kearny.



The CCC associate of arts degree in construction management includes 30 semester-hours of course work from the Drafting program, plus general education courses from several other fields.



Students who transfer to UNK complete an additional 65 credits of course work to complete their bachelor’s degree.
