'' Licensed practical nurses work under the supervision of registered nurses, physicians, dentists, osteopaths or podiatrists.
Job prospects for LPNs are expected to be excellent, according to the U.S. Labor Department, with employment in nursing care facilities growing in response to the long-term care needs of a rapidly growing population of very old people as well as general growth in health care.
Long term and skilled care facilities will offer the most new jobs, with a job growth of 21-35 percent projected through 2012.
The CCC Practical Nursing program is approved by the Nebraska Board of Nursing. Graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN test required to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Graduates are well prepared to practice as an LPN in a variety of settings.
The program is offered at CCC’s Columbus Campus, Grand Island Campus and Kearney Center.
