Our mission is to further excellence in the accounting profession by preparing ethical, competent graduates with the knowledge and skills base necessary to enter into a variety of careers, pursue graduate work, or attain professional certification. Our program strives to help you develop into a servant-leader and lifelong learner, adaptable to change in tomorrow’s business environment.

Philosophy

Our philosophy of accounting education is based on these principles:

Students learn best by practicing their skills, not just reading about them. Multiple real world projects are incorporated throughout the curriculum, starting your freshman year.
We all can learn something from each other. Group work with your peers, faculty members, and business people is a vital part of your learning experience.
Ethical leadership in the field is as important as it ever was -- it just gets more press coverage lately. You will participate in values-based learning, based in the Benedictine tradition, through special ethics courses and activities integrated throughout the curriculum.
Every student is unique. An accounting advisor will help you choose the courses and even certification track that will help you reach your individual goals.
