'' Graduates of the Radio Broadcasting Program at Mt. Hood Community College are working all over the United States, but most find jobs in Oregon. In fact, you can call any radio station in Portland and talk to a former student, or get good feedback on our radio program. We believe our radio program at Mt. Hood is one of the best available anywhere. It enjoys strong support from the radio industry, including support from the Oregon Association of Broadcasters.
As technology evolves, the role of the broadcaster has evolved along with it. Students in Radio Broadcasting option acquire technical proficiency with digital audio tools, understand the theoretical concepts behind a variety of digital media, and develop the skills needed to work in the industry as a production and promotions director, operations manager, and program director. If you’re interested in music production, sound design for film, video games and the Internet, Radio Broadcasting offers a broad range of multimedia skill development emphasizing professional audio skills. Instruction includes an even balance between theory classes and practical, hands-on production laboratories.
