'' The objective of the program is to prepare individuals for careers as technicians in the plastics injection molding industry. You will be trained to set up, operate and troubleshoot injection molding machines with an emphasis on producing quality molded parts at minimal possible cycle times. You will also be trained to set up and operate injection molding auxiliary equipment and secondary operations equipment such as part decorating and assembly equipment. Safety procedures will be emphasized for each piece of equipment that is introduced.



Students also become knowledgeable in basic part and mold design technology to optimize molding job sampling and troubleshooting skills, and become proficient in understanding and applying statistical quality control principles to the high volume molding demands found in the plastics industry. You will be able to work with various types of automated part handling equipment and gain a general understanding of the operational aspects of an injection molding business.
