This seminar introduces the field of human developmental psychology. From conception to death, how do people grow and change throughout life? Among the topics addressed are characteristics and capacities of the infant, infant-parent attachment and interaction, cognitive development, emotion regulation, social cognition, family and peer relationships, morality, and aging. We consider both biological and cultural influences on development as well as issues in life-span developmental psychology.
