'' The Product Design Department trains flexible, intelligent, and technologically savvy designers. Graduates from this program are particularly skilled as collaborators and researchers whose interdisciplinary approaches distinguish them among their peers. Students learn to conceive thoughtful and innovative consumer products that address domestic environments, meet specialized needs, and facilitate the individual’s activities in daily life. They also seek new applications for traditional practices and sustainable approaches to natural materials. The curriculum explores the design processes through which a product is conceived, developed, fabricated, and marketed.
