'' The Master of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology is designed to train culturally versatile I/O practitioners who develop and apply scientific knowledge to the solution of problems at work. The curriculum is designed to provide practical training in the areas of selection and placement, training and development, performance measurement, organization development and quality of work life. Requirements for this degree include 44 academic credits, 4 Practicum credits, a cumulative GPA of 3.00 and the successful completion of the comprehensive examination.

Professional aspects of I/O Psychology include personnel research, training and development, psychological testing research, counseling and consulting, advising management, setting personnel policy, human resource planning, organizational development and analysis, and other human resource functions.
Professional I/O Psychologists and practitioners are:

1. Scientists who derive principles of individual, group, and organizational behavior through research.

2. Consultants and staff psychologists who develop scientific knowledge and apply it to the solution of problems at work.

3. Teachers who train in the research and application of Industrial/Organizational Psychology.

Scientific aspects of I/O Psychology include both applied and basic science. Applied aspects are oriented around scientific solutions to human problems at work. Basic aspects are quite variable, following the investigator’s interests. Examples include research on methods of behavioral measurement, communication, motivation, social interaction, and leadership. ...''
