'' It’s sunny outside and citrus-bright sweaters are being reordered. The next phone call is for reservations for your holiday New York market trip. In between you check on the availability of samples for your fall catalog. You are working on three seasons simultaneously for a fashion house or retailer. Fashion ranks among the top ten industries in the United States, with annual sales of 120 billion dollars.

Buyer is only one position in the fast-paced business of fashion marketing. Coordinators pull together the merchandise for presentations, runway shows, catalogs, and ads. A sales consultant tackles dressing a wedding party of ten. A manufacturer’s rep gets ready for a road trip.

Our program prepares you to choose your own direction as you learn from fashion professionals with studies in visual merchandising, marketing, retailing, and buying. You’ll participate in simulated buying sessions and create marketing strategies.

Graduates are prepared for entry-level positions in retail or wholesale sales and management, or as consultants and stylists for clothing wholesalers and manufacturers, or as assistant buyers or sales representatives. Projects in retail management, marketing, and advertising will give you the groundwork for rapid advancement or a future business of your own.
