'' Rational ClearCase metadata tools such as labels, attributes, elements, and triggers, assist managers in configuring ClearCase to monitor and automate processes, allowing sites to implement their own site-specific workflow policies. Applying Rational ClearCase Metadata provides an approach to managing the software development process by using ClearCase metadata tools to achieve team and project goals. This single course addresses issues and presents tools and techniques relevant for both Microsoftâ Windowsâ and UNIX platforms. Separate lab exercises for each operating system are provided

Objective
Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to:

Define ClearCase metadata and related concepts
Create and manage metadata classes (elements, branches, labels, attributes, triggers, hyperlinks)
Perform operations on metadata classes and types.
Use elements and branches to organize user-created data
Use labels and attributes to annotate ClearCase objects
Use triggers to enforce project policies
Use triggers to add value to ClearCase operations
Explain the role of user-defined metadata in UCM projects.
Use hyperlinks to link related ClearCase objects
