Course Description:

'' This course is a continuation of COMM 200 College Writing Skills. The emphasis here is on business communications. You will learn to communicate in a variety of business forms (letters, memos, and reports).

Prerequisite(s): COMM 200 College Writing Skills or COMM 202 College Writing Skills - Correspondence or COMM 206 College Writing Skills - Music or GASA Y15 Advanced Composition 1 or GASC 200 Technical and Business Writing 1 or GAST 200 Technical Writing 1

Online/Web: To take this course through distance learning, you must have successfully passed a college-level writing course (COMM 200 College Writing Skills or equivalent) or have been exempted from COMM 200 based on placement/admissions testing. It is strongly recommended that students taking online courses have obtained at least 70 per cent in COMM 200 or an equivalent. Students contemplating online courses should recognize that successful completion requires self-motivation, self-discipline, strong commitment, time management skills, good reading comprehension, and a solid command of the English language. (Students who have completed ESL. 200 should register for ESL. 300.)

Prerequisite(s): The English Placement Test is required to enter this course. The placement test can be taken on Tuesday August 28, 2007 and Thursday August 30, 2007 at 6 pm. in Room D 225 Humber North Campus. Humber Lakeshore Campus dates are Monday August 27, 2007 and Wednesday August 29, 2007, at 6 p.m. in Room A 237. Please call 416.675.6622 ext. 3316 to book an appointment for Humber Lakeshore Campus testing only. A late fee of $40 will be charged for tests taken after those dates.
