Course Description:
'' Humber’s program prepares students for a career as an air conditioning, refrigeration and gas technician. Participants acquire a broad knowledge of the design, installation and service techniques of heating and air conditioning systems in residential and commercial buildings. They learn to size, select and maintain equipment for building comfort utilizing various industry standards. Completion of all four semesters provides an opportunity to obtain: Gas Technician 3 and Oil Burner Technician 3 Certificate of Qualification; Ozone Depletion Prevention Card (Ministry of the Environment) and Residential Air System Design Technician designation (issued by HRAI).
Work Placement
Students are responsible for arranging their own four-month (minimum 400 hours) paid work term. It normally takes place from May through August following semester four. Students must successfully complete a career management course to help them develop effective job search skills, prior to the work term.
