'' Travel the globe and earn a career in the world’s largest and fastest growing industry. This dynamic program - approved by the Canadian Institute of Travel Counsellors - connects students with tourism and travel employers with the goal of developing leaders for this sector. The innovative and contemporary curriculum addresses students’ interests, employers’ needs and the industry’s hottest topics, preparing graduates for a wide range of supervisory and operational careers. Humber’s technological training prepares students for a smooth integration into the work environment. This training includes: Apollo and Sabre - two major airline Global Distribution Systems, and Respro - the reservation system used by major tour operators. To complete the list of educational tools, business and management courses such as e-commerce and web design, management and leadership, and marketing and sales, are delivered in class by industry experts.

In the second year, students will shape their career by choosing from travel elective or specialization courses. Students can choose a field in the vast retail industry of leisure, corporate, or specialty travel, or study the non-retail sectors of tour operations, airlines, consolidators, or cruise sales. Students are able to plan and experience their own trip to a selected destination in the Caribbean or Mexico. There is also an opportunity to undertake your fourth semester in France.

Students will learn the necessary skills to obtain the following nationally recognized certifications: Destination and Product Specialist, CLIA Associate Cruise Degree, Adventure Travel Specialist, Super Host and RBC Travel Insurance. They also have the opportunity to write the CITC entry-level exam as a first step of becoming a certified travel consultant.
