'' The field of telecommunications is exploding as society embraces cellular phones, PDAs and other wireless equipment as part of day-to-day life. From home care systems in the health care industry to theft prevention systems in the criminal justice field, industries are incorporating wireless communication as a central feature in updating and improving the services they provide.

As the need for advanced levels of technological communication grows, so does the need for qualified professionals trained in both computer science and telecommunications �people who are capable of managing, developing, and maintaining new technologies. The Computing program addresses this gap in the workforce, providing students with the information necessary to fully understand the convergence of computing and telecommunications.

With a Bachelor of Applied Computing and a Diploma in Wireless Telecommunications Technology to your credit, you will have a wide range of opportunities available to you, especially in the Greater Toronto Area where many of the nation’s important computing and telecommunications companies are located; you will also be prepared to pursue graduate studies. Whatever you choose, the possibilities are limitless.

WORKPLACE EXPERIENCE
Your two four-month work placements are fully paid and will provide you with valuable experience and networking opportunities, while allowing you to earn an income. A preparation course will provide you with interview and résumé tips, and your placement coordinator will assist you in finding a workplace experience related to your individual interests. To date, we have a 100% placement rate.
