'' In the Justice Studies program, you will gain practical experience in a variety of segments within Ontario’s justice system and develop strategies for working with high-risk individuals in private, public, community, and institutional settings. You will study deviant behaviour, crime scene investigation, criminal and civil law, ethics, and research methods �areas which will prepare you to become a criminal justice systems practitioner.

The academic rigor of our program ensures that you will be well-positioned to enter law school or graduate studies in a variety of interdisciplinary programs from sociology to criminal justice.

WORKPLACE EXPERIENCE
In your second and third year in the program, you will complete community service placements to develop your sensitivity to contemporary social issues ranging from abuse and violence to welfare. You will become familiar with the structure and administration of community organizations that operate within and adjacent to the justice system, such as shelters for abused women, probation offices, or homes for troubled youth. Throughout your placements, you will participate in weekly seminars to critically analyze your volunteer experiences. Students in the program are currently volunteering as auxiliary police officers, as probation and parole officers, with rape crisis centres, with Crime Stoppers, and with other not-for-profit and government agencies in the justice field.
