Course Description:

'' To introduce students with little or no previous computer experience, to the basic concepts of computer hardware and software, computer programming, social and ethical implications of computer use, and useful applications of computers in personal and academic life. The course emphasizes the use of software packages, focusing on word processors, spreadsheets and databases. Topics include fundamental computer concepts, social impacts, and introduction to Windows, Visual Basic, HTML, the Internet and several useful applications packages, namely MS Office Suite. Problem solving techniques using structured programming in modern macro/database programming environment are introduced.
