'' The IATA/VIASINC Global Distribution Fares and Ticketing course is developed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Vocational Instruction and Software, Inc (VIASINC) and endorsed by the Universal Federation of Travel Agents Association (UFTAA).
This computer-based training (CBT) course is intended for entry-level students and experienced GDS users wishing to understand the principles of constructing international airfares applying IATA fare construction rules covering both basic and advanced mileage concepts. The primary objective of this course is to teach students how to compute international mileage-based fares and issue tickets using a GDS. Students will learn GDS entries related to mileage system pricing and ticketing, construct fares for one way journeys, round trip and circle trip journeys involving different classes of services, open jaws, lowest combinations and around-the-world journeys.
Upon successful completion of this certificate course students will be eligible to register to write the IATA Fares and Ticketing exam at an IATA approved examination site. Exam fee is not included in tuition.
This certificate course is included in the Travel & Tourism Advanced Diploma CITC endorsed Level II and the Travel & Tourism Business Management Diploma.
