Course Description:

'' This qualification focuses on performance of a prescribed range of functions within the ’Glass and Glazing’ sector, usually within a broad range of related activities involving known routines, methods and procedures, where some discretion and judgement is required in the selection of equipment, services or contingency measures and within known time constraints.
Apprentices undertaking this program will complete 23 units of competency from the Furnishing National Training Package, focusing on the specialist areas of using glass and glazing sector hand and power tools, apply first aid, operate a glass freefall rack and table, process thin glass by hand, move glass sheets by hand, process glass by basic machines, glaze/reglaze residential windows and doors, assess glass and glazing requirements, process thick glass by hand, install furnishing products.

Study area Building and Construction
Entry requirements Completion on Year 10 or equivalent, Sound Achievement in Mathematics and English is recommended. Current employment in a Glass and Glazing apprenticeship is desirable.
You must be employed as an apprentice and must have signed a Registered Training Contract as an apprentice/trainee to be eligible to undertake training in this program.
