Course Format: Classroom | E-learning | Virtual Class | Online | On-site | Blended | Self-paced
Course Description:
'' The program is offered to graduates of any discipline, as well as industry professionals. The program is designed to accommodate both those new to film and television through foundation coursework subjects, and those already practicing in the industry.
Strong industry links provide the opportunity for internships with prominent production houses and other industry partners working on feature films or television productions. Students also have access to a range of high-level digital technology in planning, shooting and post-producing their productions, thus providing the opportunity to assemble an impressive portfolio of work to support future job applications.
Professional Outcomes Clear options for students include directing, producing, head of department roles, organisational roles such as production management and creative roles such as camera, sound and production design. The program also prepares students for careers in postproduction, distribution and exhibition.
Entry requirements The Master of Film and Television program lets students choose the mode and emphasis of their studies. Options available include a range of production, interactive media, film business and screen studies subjects. The degree can be undertaken either entirely by coursework, or a combination of coursework and minor thesis or project.
Work Experience and Internships Some students without practical workplace experience, or with workplace experience in a field different from their studies, choose to undertake an internship as part of their degree.
This intensely practical professional development approach fosters graduates who are ready, willing and able to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact in the workplace.
Attendance Most students undertake four subjects per semester* (equivalent to 40 credit points). You may, however, enrol in fewer subjects and extend your degree over a longer period.
Bonds Teaching methodology involves a combination of lectures, tutorials, seminars, examinations, projects, presentations, assignments, computer labs and industry projects.
* Australian students enrolled in three or more subjects may be eligible to claim Austudy benefits. International students are required to study a minimum of 30 credit hours (three subjects equivalent) per semester to fulfil Australian study visa requirements.
