Course Description:
'' The program is primarily an academic research program that introduces students to the histories of film and of television in Australia and worldwide, and familiarises them with central theoretical debates in the field of Film and Television Studies. Its elective courses allow students to pursue interests in practical or theoretical aspects of film and television.
The program is designed for professionals in the film and media industry, the arts, the law and librarianship, and is suitable for university, college and secondary school teachers wishing to upgrade their qualifications for professional purposes. Students wishing to undertake a program in practical screen production are advised to enrol in the Master of Arts in Media Production.
Attendance
The Master of Arts in Film and Television is offered full-time on campus at the Nathan campus. You may choose to study courses at other campuses if or where the program structure allows.
As a full-time student you will generally attend 4 to 10 hours of scheduled classes per week throughout the semester. Classes may be scheduled during the day and evening throughout the week.
Students may take a reduced study load. You will be classed as a part-time student if you enrol in less than 30 credit points per semester. International students must maintain a full-time study load.
