Course Description:

'' The program is focused on the dual goals of helping participants develop professional meta competencies (such as reflective practice, interpersonal skills and self-management) and specific competencies (for enhancing the functioning of individuals and organisations, such as workplace counselling, psychological assessment, facilitation and consultancy, HRM, program evaluation and training).

The program is appropriate for practitioners who seek employment or who are working in public, private and community organisations in developmental roles. The Psychologists Board of Queensland recognises the program as allowing students to become registered psychologists under Pathway Two of the registration process. This Masters is an Australian Psychological Society (APS) accredited program.

Attendance
The Master of Organisational Psychology is offered full-time and part-time on campus at the Mt Gravatt campus. You may choose to study courses at other campuses if or where the program structure allows.

You will be classed as a part-time student if you are enrolled in less than 30 credit points per semester.

Students enrolling in the Master of Organisational Psychology are required to complete coursework, supervised placements and a dissertation.

Coursework:

You are required to attend approximately 3 ? 6 hours of scheduled classes per week. Classes are scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to accommodate students in full-time employment unavailable to attend classes during the day.

Dissertation:

During your enrolment in the dissertation component of this program, it is expected that you will be able to work independently for most of the time. The requirement for on-campus attendance is relatively flexible and unstructured. However, you will be required to meet regularly with your supervisor and it is recommended that you discuss the on-campus attendance requirements with your supervisor at the start of the dissertation.

Supervised Placements:

1,000 hours of supervised work experience conducted off-campus is also a component of this course.

Career opportunities
Masters graduates have found employment within the human resource function of large private and public-sector organisations, and in consultancies, offering specialist psychological services in recruitment, selection and assessment, generic management consulting and employee assistance programs.
