'' This program (offered from Semester 2/2005) is designed to provide Japanese Bachelor-prepared registered nurses with the opportunity to upgrade their nursing qualifications to Masters level whilst remaining in Japan for the majority of their program of study. The program will be offered offshore in Japan, in the Japanese language, in external mode, with the opportunity for students to attend on-campus schooling at Griffith University during the program. Course materials will be translated into the Japanese language with the expectation that students will be able to read English to a level that allows them to access, read and comprehend literature sources written in the English language.

Career opportunities
On successful completion of this program, graduates will be recognised for their expertise and ability to apply multi-disciplinary knowledge and skills in nursing or/and health, and will have the ability to analyse, critique and synthesise advanced practice in nursing or/and health. They will possess high levels of skill in the following:

Oral and written communication, developed through essays, debates and presentations;
Problem-solving, analysis and critical evaluation developed through literature analyses, case studies, and preparation of research proposals;
Information literacy developed through reviews of the literature, research and web quests, application of IT software;
Leadership, team work and decision making developed through a core course;
Ethical standards developed through tutorials, class debate and exploration of the research process.
Graduates will have a well-founded research skills training. In addition, those undertaking the research dissertation, will demonstrate an ability to identify, structure and undertake research.
