'' Australia has an international reputation in financial services both in terms of the growth and development of the industry and in particular, regulation and compliance. The Graduate Diploma in Global Wealth Management (GDGWM) will provide the foundation for those who wish to pursue a career in the rapidly growing field of wealth management and financial planning.
The Graduate Diploma in Global Wealth Management is a unique program that links higher education with industry requirements. The majority of courses are delivered in executive style intensive mode (generally Friday & Saturday blocks) by academics and industry practitioners and includes some catering. The program will look at the needs of high net worth investors, aspects of global wealth management and investment processes as well as developing an understanding of topics such as cross cultural negotiation and conflict and non verbal communication across cultures.
Who can enrol?
The course is designed for graduates but candidates with suitable industry experience will be considered for entry. Advanced standing may be offered to holders of appropriate Diploma, Bachelor and Masters degrees. Graduate Diploma graduates can also be considered for advanced standing if they wish to study for a Master of Commerce Degree or MBA at a later stage.
Who would benefit from this program?
If your job requires you to deal with high net worth clients or if you aspire to work with these individuals this could be the program for you. It would have particular appeal to financial planners, private client advisers, private bankers and those dealing with international clients.
Certified Financial Planner Designation
The completion of this course enables a candidate to apply to the Financial Planning Association of Australia Limited (FPA) for advanced standing for the technical units of the CFP Certification Program. The FPA recognised internationally as the peak professional organisation representing the financial planning sector in Australia. It also meets ASIC ps146 compliance issues for providing financial planning advice.
Duration
The expected duration of the program is 1 year of full-time study (2 semesters). Advanced standing may be given which can reduce the duration of the program to 6 months. Australian candidates may choose to undertake the program part-time.
