'' The program is accredited as a Certificate IV within Australia and provides the minimum qualification required to teach TESOL in most recognised English Language institutions both in Australia and overseas.
Academic Program
The certificate provides essential training in the use of communicative methodologies, lesson planning and classroom practice. Teaching methods combine face-to-face delivery, self-study and project work. Participants will observe experienced ESL teachers and participate in teaching practice with ESL learners at various levels of English language learning.
Admission Requirements
For admission to this program applicants must:
be a native speaker of English or have a minimum language proficiency of IELTS with an overall band score of at least 6.0 and minimum band score of 6.0 in Writing and Speaking and 5.5 in Reading and Listening or TOEFL score of at least 550 with a minimum score of 4.0 in the Test of Written English (TWE);
have a tertiary qualification equivalent to an Australian Bachelor degree;
have previous teaching experience or other relevant vocational experience; and
have met the minimum requirements of the pre-interview tasks and interview.
