'' To graduate students who are capable of designing and managing socially and environmentally responsive interior environments which sustain healthy human existence.
Entry requirements Qualified for the SACE:
recorded achievement in 5 SACE subjects taken at Stage 2 level included at least 4 Stage 2 subjects which are approved Higher Education Selection Subjects (HESS G) obtained an achievement score of 10 or better for prerequisite courses obtained a competitive TER Qualified other than SACE:
completed the equivalent secondary education qualifications as required for University entry under SACE completed or partly completed a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education institution completed at least four Open Universities Australia (OUA) courses at the appropriate level completed a recognised TAFE Diploma, Associate Diploma, or Certificate Level IV completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma completed the University Foundation Studies program qualified for Special Entry. Special entry provisions may also apply for ATSI applicants.
Content/structure The program is a four year full-time or part-time equivalent program. Year 1 introduces students to basic skills and concepts and establishes a theoretical framework. Year 2 and Year 3 develop competence in core areas. Year 4 expands the intellectual and professional areas of the program and provides scope for specialisation through electives.
The program requires completion of courses comprising 144 units.
Professional recognition
Graduates of the Bachelor of Interior Architecture are eligible for Associate Membership of the Design Institute of Australia.
The Bachelor of Interior Architecture does not confer qualifications in Architecture and the South Australian Architects Act legislation (1939) restricts the use of the title Architect to those registered by the Architects Board of South Australia.
