'' This course explores the Acrobat 7.0 work environment and provides skills and practice in the creation and manipulation of Portable Document Format (PDF) files.



You will learn to

Ø Understand differences between electronic documents designed for printing and viewing online

Ø Identify types of formatting and design decisions required when creating an electronic publication

Ø Work with the Acrobat tools and navigation pane

Ø Change how a PDF file scrolls and displays in the document window

Ø Change the magnification of a view

Ø Retrace your viewing path through a document

Ø Convert a Word document to a PDF file

Ø Convert Word headings and styles to PDF bookmarks

Ø Convert Word comments to PDF notes

Ø Add password protection to your PDF files

Ø Change the PDF conversion settings

Ø Convert an Excel file and send it for review online

Ø Convert a file and attach it to an Outlook email

Ø Convert a TIFF file to PDF

Ø Consolidate PDF files into one PDF file

Ø Add headers, footers and backgrounds

Ø Use the Print command to convert a file to PDF

Ø Change the settings used to convert files to PDF and compare the quality and file size of files converted with different settings

Ø Choose compression, sampling and image quality settings

Ø Explore colour management options

Ø Copy text and images



What skills you need

No prior knowledge of Adobe Acrobat is assumed, however those attending this course should be competent in the use of the keyboard, mouse and working in the Windows environment (including copying files from CDs, as well as opening and saving files). A basic understanding of Microsoft Word is assumed.
