'' In this 2 day program, participants will gain the more advanced skills required for creating and enhancing professional and graphically rich documents such as magazines, newsletters or brochures using Adobe InDesign CS2.



You will learn to

Ø Distinguish between vector and bitmap graphics

Ø Place layered Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator graphics

Ø Import clipping paths with graphics and create clipping paths

Ø Manage placed files using the Links palette

Ø Use and create libraries for objects

Ø Import graphics using Adobe Bridge

Ø Import formatted tables from other applications

Ø Format tables with alternating row colours

Ø Format cell and border strokes

Ø Place single or multiple graphics within a cell

Ø Format text in tables by columns and by rows

Ø Colourise an imported black and white graphic

Ø Change the opacity of objects drawn in InDesign

Ø Apply blending modes to overlapping objects

Ø Apply feathering to soften images for imported graphics

Ø Adjust transparency settings for imported graphics

Ø Apply transparency settings to text

Ø Apply drop shadows to text and graphics

Ø Join multiple InDesign documents into a book

Ø Create a table of contents for a book

Ø Assign a source document for defining styles

Ø Create index references, generate an index file and sort entries

Ø Confirm an InDesign file and all its elements are ready for print

Ø Generate a PDF file for others to proof

Ø Assemble all necessary files for printing or delivery to a printer

Ø Print documents containing spot colours

Ø Create a print preset to automate the printing process



What skills you need

The ability to use InDesign to create documents to the level covered in the 2 day Introduction course is required.

Each participant receives a training reference manual/workbook and supplementary training materials. Refreshments and lunch are provided.
