Course Description:

'' In this 1 day program, participants will gain the knowledge and skills to allow them to become proficient in using PageMaker’s advanced features for applying colours, publishing publications and printing publications.



You will learn to

Ø Use the story editor to check spelling, find and replace text, delete extra spaces and returns, change text attributes, use typography techniques to adjust line length, select a typeface, use hyphenation and justification

Ø Use the Colours palette to select a colour model; create and use a spot, process, tint colour; convert one colour type to another; add a colour from a colour library; apply colours to multiple objects and imported objects and create a custom colour library

Ø Set up and change the preferences of a Colour Management System, select image profiles, set and use trapping techniques

Ø Use scripts to automate PageMaker processes, use plug-ins to create and perform advanced PageMaker processes

Ø Import an HTML file to PageMaker, create a PDF document, set the PDF options, create a hyperlink, convert a publication to an HTML document and use the Layout Adjustment option to adjust page elements

Ø Perform pre-press processes by using Image Control, create a PostScript file; create, modify and use printer styles; understand screen and printer fonts and print colour separations



What skills you need

The ability to create and format publications using Adobe PageMaker to the level covered in our basic and intermediate courses.
