The ACOR comprises two modules. You must achieve a pass in both the IAQâ„?Operational Risk Module and the Advanced Operational Risk Module to be awarded the Advanced Certificate in Operational Risk.

1) Who should sit the ACOR?
The ACOR is aimed at individuals working in operations, risk or IT who wish to develop their managerial, professional and technical skills as financial services specialists. It is also useful for individuals working in compliance and audit.

2) Do I need any prior qualifications to sit the ACOR?
There are no formal pre-requisites for the programme. However, it is recommended that delegates have:
Completed the IAQâ„?
or
Completed one of the SII Certificate in Investments
or
Hold a qualification recognised by the SII as equivalent
or
Have industry experience at a comparable level (the SII advises that candidates have at least 18 months industry experience before embarking on this qualification)

3) What are the pass marks?
The pass mark for Operational Risk is 70%. For Advanced Operational Risk it is 50%.

4) How frequent are the examinations?
You may choose the examination dates for module 1 as this exam is sat via CBT. Module 2, Advanced Operational Risk, is held three times a year and is a three-hour manuscript examination.

5) How quickly can the ACOR be completed?
The ACOR can comfortably be completed in 12 months.
