'' The Investment Management Certificate (IMC) is administered by the UK Society of Investment Professionals (UKSIP). It was introduced in 1994 as the benchmark competency examination for the Investment Management Regulatory Organisation and the Personal Investment Authority for those engaged in discretionary or advisory management of investments.
Developed by practitioners initially for professional investment managers, analysts and advisers, the IMC has justifiably built up a reputation for high standards, relevance and consistency. Currently held by over 15,000 investment professionals, it is recognised by the fund management industry as the entry level qualification of choice for those working in financial analysis and investment management in the UK.

The IMC is often quoted as a prerequisite for posts in investment management companies.

The IMC is designated by the Financial Services Skills Council (FSSC) as an appropriate examination for a number of regulated activities including:

Managing investments
Advising on investments
Overseeing the safeguarding and administering of investments
Acting as a broker fund advise

Introductory Course
These are designed for new entrants to the city with little or no prior experience. The courses primary purpose is to introduce the candidate to the material, tackle some key areas and make the terminology more approachable. It is recommended to select an Intro course 6 weeks before the revision course.

Revision Phases
The Revision phases incorporate detailed teaching of the whole syllabus with an emphasis on how the topics are examined. We suggest that students have read the study manual by the time they attend the revision phase. After the revision phase students should give themselves some time (one �two weeks) to practice questions before attempting the exam.
