'' Managers and directors in finance, planning and analysis, either at the evaluation stage of first-time ABC/ABM implementations or wanting to maximise benefits from established activity-based costing and cost management processes.

Course Overview
Generating the vision and commitment that will guide the development of ABC/ABM in your organisation
ABC/ABM �a quick re-cap of the basics followed by a more detailed examination of how to:

develop a credible activity database
define, classify and quantify activities, cost drivers and business processes
identify and structure cost objects such as products, services, customers and channels
design a rigorous, yet practical ABC model of the business that will stand scrutiny
use a time-based approach to deliver ABC/ABM efficiently on an ongoing basis
use your ABC/ABM model to develop a driver-based approach to budgeting, planning and control

Through a series of case studies , we will examine how leading edge organisations have gained extensive benefits from ABC/ABM by using it to:

understand and improve business processes to Six Sigma standard, improving service levels,
reducing costs and increasing predictability
identify the true profitability of customers and channels, as well as products and services, and significantly increase overall margins
develop rolling forecasts and enhance management reporting and budgeting to improve accountability, planning and control
reduce non-value adding activities and re-balance the mix of business activities to improve productivity
simulate the resource impact of alternative strategic and tactical options to help anticipate the effect of potential change and future shocks

Getting started �an examination of some of the practical issues that should be considered, including a review of Rapid Prototyping, an accelerated approach to project start-up. We will also briefly review the ABC/ABM software that is available.
