Course Description:

'' The course is designed to provide a basic exposure to the fundamentals of Japanese language and culture so that the participants can feel at ease to interact with Japanese people. The course also aims to provide the foundation to the participants to take up advanced Japanese language course at ease. Within the limited number of ten sessions, the course will touch up the two Japanese scripts and will provide some idea on the Chinese characters (Kanjis). Basic and essential vocabulary, grammar, reading and listening comprehension shall be covered from the book - Shin Nihongo no Kiso I series.

Module I Japanese Script, (Hiragana & Katakana), Essential vocabulary Related vocabulary: Specialties, Jobs, Food, Dishes, Seasonings, Illness & Injury, Body, Family, Inside a room, In a training centre, In town, At a station, Road Traffic. Module II Grammar: Sentence Patterns, Particles, How to use the Forms, Adverbs, Adverbial, Expressions, & Various Conjunctions Module III Numerals, Expressions of time, Expressions of period, Counters, & Conjugation of Verbs Pedagogy: Listening comprehension Reading Comprehension Writing exercises Short conversations Short quizzes on vocabulary
