Course Description:

'' Students must be at least 21 years old and have successfully completed a bachelors degree or have an equivalent three-year diploma (or HND). You will also need a minimum English language level of IELTS 7.0, CPE or equivalent. In addition, all applicants must complete a pre-entry written task, undertake a telephone interview and pass a written test on the first day of the course.

Students may start this course in February, April, June, July or October.

Course Details
This five-week intensive course is based in Manchester for the first 3 weeks and then the final two weeks are spent studying in Spain, Greece or Hungary. The programme is designed to provide students with the necessary skills to teach a foreign language to adults. This is achieved through attending lectures and workshops that cover language awareness, teaching methodology, learner profiling and production of classroom materials. Group work, teaching practice and observations are also included.

Duration
Full time. 24 lessons per week. 5 weeks long.

Assessment & Support
Students must complete course assignments and observed teaching practices. Progress is continuously monitored and successful students will achieve a pass, a merit or a distinction for each unit.

Regular tutorial sessions are included as part of the programme. If a student needs extra help or advice, tutors are available to guide them through any teaching or learning issues that they may have.

Progression
When students have achieved over 960 hours of teaching practice they may study at City College Manchester for their LTCL Diploma in TESOL.
