'' IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. It is a test which assesses your English and indicates your readiness to follow an academic, training or professional programme. International students take IELTS to provide evidence of their competence in English; this may be necessary if, for example, you are applying to study at a university in Britain.
Courses
Students who need an IELTS score can choose to do an IELTS preparation course. This course is available as part of your intermediate, pre-advanced and advanced course, and concentrates on examination techniques. This is not offered to students at lower levels.
Students at intermediate level and above who have enrolled on the last two terms of the academic year can choose to take the IELTS exam in June.
NB: Admissions for September 2005 will have the cost of an IELTS exam covered in their course fees only if enrolled on a full academic year (ie: three terms)
