Course Description:

'' The Business National Certificate course includes five general business subjects. These are Introduction to Business, Business and Management, Creative Product Promotion, Presenting Business Information, and Business Enterprise plus seven specialist subjects (for example Finance, Marketing and Human Resources). Tutors will explain all subjects fully at the interview.

Assessment
Assessment is achieved through projects and activities in each subject area. All subjects are individually graded as ’pass’ (2 points), ’merit’ (4 points) or ’distinction’ (6 points). The points total at the end of your course will determine your overall grade for the whole course. Your certificate will show both the overall grade and the subject grades. Students may also be assessed of prior learning e.g. work experience, where that experience matches a part of a project and evidence can be produced.

Qualification
BTEC National Certificate in Business - Equivalent to 2 Advanced Levels.

Progression
After this course, successful students would have the options of applying for a degree level qualification in a business-related subject at a university of their choice; apply for other professional business qualifications in accountancy, marketing, personnel or management in universities and colleges; or apply for business employment positions in a range of companies.
