Course Description:

'' You must be operating at a literacy level entry 3 or above. You will need to be an excellent communicator with people from all backgrounds and age groups. It is desirable but not essential if you have a degree of artistic skill, flair and physical stamina and you should be able to use your hands to be creative. Your personality should be vibrant, sparkling and interesting.

Course Details
You will attend college 3 days per week. If you aged 16-18 your programme will include tutorials, enrichment activities and the development of key skills. You will be expected to attend all these sessions as part of the programme. NVQ in hairdressing comprises of 6 units for the full award. The units are: Health and Safety Shampoo and Conditioning Assisting with Colouring Assisting with Perming Develop effective Relationships Develop working Relationships Reception

3 days per week to be arranged (Full Time) Mon and Tue Evening (Part Time)

9am - 4pm (Full Time) 5pm - 8.30pm (Part Time)

Duration
1 year

Assessment
Assessment is carried out by observation of practical skills, written/oral questioning and assignments. Completions of these assessments form a portfolio of evidence.

Qualification
City and Guilds Hairdressing NVQ Level 1

Progression
Learners may progress to NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing and work in a salon as a junior.
