'' This course provides a solid introduction to many of the day-to-day tools available in the Unix environment. Commands to search for patterns in files, manipulate the contents of files and compare file contents are introduced. Students also write shell scripts and programs utilizing awk and sed programming languages. Numerous exercises and hands-on labs are assigned throughout the course to supplement and reinforce the course lecture.

Prerequisites
Student should have a fundamental understanding of the Unix operating system and its environment before taking this course.
