'' Eligibility :
Graduate/Post-Graduate degree from a recognised University;
In the case of students of Foreign Language(s) : An Advanced Diploma (Level 1.6) from the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages with at least Grade "C" or GPA 2.5 (or its equivalent qualification from a recognized University/Institute) in the specified language(s); and an excellent command of English
In the case of students of Indian Languages : An excellent command of English and the specified Indian Languages(s).
All candidates will be required to take a written Entrance Test.
Entrance Test :
The entrance test will be held at the Institute and at other centres if required.
Candidates will be informed of the date and time of the examination when they apply for admission.
No travelling allowance or daily allowance will be paid to the Candidates who take the examination.
The operational capability of the candidates in the languages concerned will be assessed at the entrance examination.

Other Information
Objectives
To acquire further knowledge of the various language characteristics in the specialised areas and their implications for translation (in terms of cultural differences, content, word choice, text function, syntactic patterns, information structure, etc.) and terminology.
To provide a basic conceptual framework.
To recognise and develop an awareness of the methodology of translation.
To acquire and develop a deeper awareness of the practical research/searching and documentation techniques necessary to find solutions for translation problems in the various subject fields.
To professionalise translation skills and develop quality consciousness.
Attendance
Candidates are required to attend at least 75% of the classes to be eligible to take the module end examination. The concerned teacher will maintain a record of attendance for each module.
