'' Macromedia Flash is a multimedia tool to let you create vector-based animations with built-in interactivity. Flash incorporates many innovations from the way you draw artwork to how you make interactive buttons. It’s extremely capable, and the file sizes are small; the perfect tool for the Web.

We’ve taken the new Macromedia curriculum and extended it to three days. This introductory course is designed to get you comfortable with this powerful application. Hands-on projects revolve around a single flash site with the content being built in class. It covers all the topics you need to get started with Flash. It will help you learn how to plan, create, and deliver Flash animations.

Outline/Table of Contents

· Understand how Flash uses keyframes, symbols and instances to create animation

· Use layers to organize artwork, plan for animations, and create labels and actions

· Understand the difference between Overlay & Canvas level artwork, text objects, bitmap objects and Library objects

· Use the Flash drawing tools to create and modify shapes

· Use the drawing tools to change colors, select and reshaping lines and fills

· Create shape morphs and use shape hints to control the effect

· Create a shape morph and use shape hints to control the effect

· Describe and create both user actions and automatic actions to control movie flow and to create interactivity

· Create animations that follow a specific path using a motion guide

· Create animations within a mask using masking layers

· Use buttons to create rollover "popup" text

· Describe the differences between a Graphic Symbol, a Button Symbol, and a MovieClip Symbol
· Create and edit simple ActionScript using the Actions panel

· Use the "with" command to control movie clips

· Import vectors, bitmaps and sound into Flash Understand how Flash uses keyframes for frame-by-frame animation and tweened animation

· Describe how Scenes & Actions work together

· Add sound to buttons and movies

· Import and control Video and understand compression considerations

· Dynamically load jpg’s at runtime

· Use a preloader component

· Optimize and Publish your Movies for the web

· Create stand-alone projectors
