'' Introduction to the Spanish language presented in the context of travel, from planning a trip to returning home. Includes travel in Spanish speaking countries, words and phrases related to transportation, conversation for hotels, restaurants, and tourist services, and language of health and hygiene.

Performance Objectives:

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to do the following:

Identify the locations of Spanish speaking countries and their major cities.
Demonstrate in Spanish how to order an airline ticket to travel to a specific city, make a rail reservation for travel to another city, and reserve a local rental car for a specific destination.
Read in Spanish with accurate pronunciation a travel brochure featuring hotels, restaurants, and tours, including rates and "package deals."
Participate in a mock emergency situation requiring an ambulance and the location of the nearest hospital.
