'' Continuation of RUS 102. Includes grammar review, plural case endings, prepositional/accusative cases, weather and climate, and reflexive verbs.

Performance Objectives:

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to do the following:

Read, write, and speak previously covered vocabulary.
Apply the plural cases for each gender.
Read, write, and speak preposition/accusative cases.
Read, write, and speak words and phrases concerning weather and climate.
Use the reflexive verbs in writing and speaking.
Read, write, and speak words and phrases concerning libraries, books, and journals.
Course Outline:

Grammar Review
Vocabulary, cardinal numbers, emphatic pronouns, some important verbs and adjectives
Oral communication review
Written communication review
Interactive discussion on current events
Plural Case Endings
Case endings of nouns and adjectives- agreement
Communicating on the telephone: ordering an overseas call
Intermediate manipulation of the verbs of motion-transitive and intransitive
Prepositional/Accusative Cases
Model expressions regarding location and directions
Verbal aspect-unidirectional vs. multi-directional
Interactive class communication through reading and speaking about city transportation
Weather and Climate
Weather reports and conditions for travel
Russian history and culture-a feel for the country
Dative and prepositional cases-commonly used prepositions for these cases
Various climatic conditions in the Russian states
Reflexive Verbs
Movies, radio, and television
Reassessing the "kotoryi" construction
Reading popular poetry: Akmatova, Pushkin, etc.
Libraries, Books and Journals
Negative constructions
Uses of "-to" and "-nibud"
Reading stories in Russian: Baranskaia, Lif, and Petrov, etc.
